Words from Dad
When Joshua sent the 2 1/2 tribes back to their own possesion he gave them this charge. I think this is a good charge for my family also. We are mostly "scatttered" and these words should be a good guide.
Joshua 22:5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
6 So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents.
In chapter 23:1-8 Joshua re-iterates these thoughts for the tribes "at home".
Right before his death he again instructs Israel in Joshua 24:14-15.
During this instruction there are several references to "rehearsing God's "history" with His people. Let me encourage you to review the Swaffer "history". God has done marvelous things in our sight and he wants to continue to do that as we obey Him.
As I read these chapters I am reminded of
God's repeated instruction in both the Old and New Testaments to "come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord".
Love,
Your Patriarch,
Dad
