Birds & Blooms

Birds
Well, I have been meaning to get my bird feeders up, since I got my bird feeder post "replanted" at this house several weeks ago. Last year I had just bought really cheap feeders, and consequently they didn't last more that one season. So anyway, I bought some better ones at Wal-Mart this weekend and put them up last night. Today when I came home I saw a Ruby Throated Hummingbird partaking, so that was exciting. I put "songbird" mix in the cedar feeder, so hopefully I will get some pretty songbirds to come hang out.

Blooms
The landlord really hasn't done much with my yard in the few months I have lived here...they have landscaped some in the neighboring duplexes they own. So the other day when I saw one of them out working in the neighbor's yard I asked if they had plans for the dirt area between my duplex and the sidewalk. He said eventually he wanted to do something...so I asked him if I could plant stuff in the smaller section near my front door. He said I could, so I got a few plants yesterday. I will probably need more, but I thought I would start out by planting what I REALLY wanted and knew would fit and then add a little bit at a time...

I have 2 tomato plants, a few marigolds and a citronella plant. Plus I bought some lettuce seeds and parsley seeds. I will see how this all fits and maybe get some more stuff. I have 2 hanging baskets that I planted with impatients. They seem to be doing well.
