Cold Cuts

Well, I have finally gotten around to posting our family expedition.

I have included a couple of newspaper articles to give you the main overview.

As far as our family, we drove down to Lake Geneva on Sat a.m. and stopped at the Olympic Restaurant. I had a Greek omelet with tomatoes, onions, and gyro meat. Maria had a Monterey chicken sandwich.

We then strolled down the street and enjoyed the many sculptures. Each had a picture posted by the sculpture so that you could tell what it was supposed to be. Most of them matched pretty well. Our favorite was the bear and squirrel "yelling" at each other :-) ~ "the Stand Off" You can't see it in my cell phone quality picture, but the bear's teeth and claws were clear ice and looked really neat. There were also some clear ice acorns inside the hole in the tree.

Some of the others were: a coffe mug being tipped ~ "Weak Coffee Goes Down Easy," a hand feeding baby birds a worm ~ "Feed Me," a bull fighter ~ "the Matador," symbols of New York, and a mathematical sculpture designed around some kind of a knot ~ "Torus Tourist."

It was cold and windy, so we did not spend a lot of time looking. But we all enjoyed seeing the "artwork."
