The New Vice-President Plays an Offertory

The Swaffer Family Blog

Wow, what a day yesterday! It was a good day, but by the end I was drained. It actually all started Tuesday night, when I was trying to finish up my Music Theory final. What a humdinger. Do you now the differnce between a #V6/5 and a +IV2? Me neither, Just kidding actually I could explian it to you if you really wanted to know, anyway I was really not sure if I knew what I was doing or not. So I did my best and filled in all the answers (It was a take home final. PTL!!!) Also that night I had to round up a whole bunch of people to sign a card for Mrs. Mason, our English Composition teacher. It was a joy to be able to head up a little appreciation activity for her from the class. We got her flowers and Godiva chocolate (her personal favorite) I love planning surprise things like that. Tuesday however I found out some info that could have put a damper on things, so I prayed that all would go well. Before Comp. class we had our last League meetings of the year I belong to the Watchman league. We had our election for next years officers. I was elected Vice-President. :-() It should be interesting to be a part of the inter-body council. :-) Then after that we had English comp. class, we were to get our papers back. We were all very nervous since if you have one fragment you get a zero on your paper. But first things first, we had to surprise honor her. And boy did we. It was a joy to be able to show her just a little of our appreciation for her. She has MD and is often in pain while teaching. Her fortitude and perseverence and joyful attitude have been a tremndous example to me. I was able to read a poem that one of the girls here wrote about some of the distinct character qualities that stood out. She did an excellent job. Anyway it went well and we were all happy that we were able to do it. Then after that we got our papers back. She called us up one at a time and handed us our paper and then we were free to leave. As she handed me mine she half smiled and said, "I'm sure you did do your best. " At first my heart sank, but then I caught the half grin, but still... I got outside of the class room and opened it up and I saw my grade, 102! Praise the Lrod He helped me so much!! She wanted several of us to make the corrections on our paper and then return them to her for her to use in later semesters. So I have to do that. After 2 today all my classes will be done and all I'll have left will be finals. I have two on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and one on Wednesday. I've alread taken two.
Last night at churc hI played the offertory. SCARY!! I made mistakes but I think you could tell that it was supposed to be How GreatThou Art.
I must go and do some work, just wanted to let you all know what's been happening in my life.
