Randomness :-)

The Swaffer Family Blog

Well, I just got back a roll of film from this past semester and thought I'd share it with you all. I wish I would have taken more pictures, but... Well, I can't figure out how to get the pictures on here. Does somebody out there know how? SO I guess I won't share my pics with you at least not now.
I had a funny experience at work today. I was helping out and taking one of the Amish girls home after work. Well, I've never taken her home before so I didn't know where I was going, but I was trying to follow her directions. You know how Amish people are they tell you right there when the road is that you are supposed to turn ...back there. :-) Anyway we went past the road so I thought well I'll turn around and go back. There was a car behind us so I turned on my blinker and then they turned on theirs. I had just happened to pick the driveway that these people were going to also. It was kind of funny.
Well, I guess I'll post this and try to do the pictures another day.
Love you all

It's ME -- Mom :)

The Swaffer Family Blog
Hello! I've finally moved up in the world! A college student whom we all know and love is sitting by my side at the Sugarcreek Public Library teaching me how to post. Should I post my first compositions from about four months ago? They came to my mind as your dad was trying unsuccessfully to get on here following the instructions he had been given...the compositions were TONGUE - IN - CHEEK ( for those who don't know I do have a funny bone in my body :) ) Anyway, the poor man was typing in different things, and he tried "Dad and Mom". The computer replied, "These characters are not allowed." WELL! Talk about feeling shut out of your kids' lives. hee, hee, hee :) After some more efforts, he got some ridiculous notice about his "cookie functionality" not working right! ?! Now if that doesn't show the ignorance of a computer! I happened to know he had not only eaten cookies that evening, he had even baked them ! There is nothing wrong with the man's cookie functionality!!! hee, hee, hee :) Well now I can delete those mental "compositions" and free up my "memory" a little.
I'd better go home and clean house for Brad's grad party. Wish you could all come.
Brian, I saw Andrew's blog for the first time --- cute pictures!

Okay, I will post an update from work here...don't know how it will go...never know when those annoying tones will go off. :-) So, what shall I post about at 0248? :-D
We have had a few interesting things happen lately...

Stopped out behind a disabled vehicle broken down in a construction zone on the interstate. While we were parked behind them to keep traffic from hitting them (they were unable to get off the road) a truck managed to careen past us (why he was going at least 70 mph in a construction zone AND while passing a stopped emergency vehicle is yet to be determined, though characteristic of Greenvillians!) and then it proceeded to totally lose control and CRASH right in front of us. It was one of those "happens so fast, yet in slow motion, oh my goodness I can't believe this is happening but I know it is, wow this is COOL!" moments! :-) Sorry, you might have to be in emergency services to understand...Anyway, it was pretty incredible to see! The poor people we had stopped out to help, she freaked out and started crying...he started screaming "no! No! NO!" but I was thinking to myself...buddy, don't waste your breath, it is going to happen, there is NOTHING we can do about it. I will try to post a picture later, when I am at home and have access to them. Anyway, ends up no one was hurt to speak of, in spite of the truck flipping up onto the concrete barrier. PRETTY INCREDIBLE!

Had one of the most legit psych patients I have ever had. WOW! Totally off the wall, random, not in touch with reality at all! Actually somewhat humorous, yet at the same time sorta' sad. I thank God for my sound mind. (Okay, no comment!) :-)

Tonight when we got to work we had a message to call FD. They were making baked spaghetti for dinner and wanted to invite us over. It was really good!

I spent my day at home (before work) changing out the bad bulbs in my headlight and taillight on the Trooper. Then I tried to thoroughly clean out the Celebrity and LeBaron so they would look nicer to sell. Uhm...anyone know how to get the top of a convertible back up after it decides not to work anymore? Anyway, I shall buy a tarp at Wal-Mart on the way home in the morning...that way it might not get rained on. I am beginning to think the cheapest way to get rid of the car may be to send it to the junk yard! :-) Hmmm...if I could only get the top back up, I would love to tear the car apart myself...for extrication training! (No vengeance at all!) ;-)

Well, I am getting tired...lullaby and good night! :-p ZZZZzzzz.....

Some random pictures & updates...

Okay, so when I go a long time without posting...that means I am exceptionally busy (no comments from the peanut gallery about me being busy, please.) And when I am exceptionally busy, that means I have lots to post about...so I will post some pics with descriptions and if you want more info you can ask. How does that sound? Besides, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? :-)

Totally random order, as there is no way I can get everything chronological without taking FOREVER! :-)

How would you like to be sitting on your back deck and see this come through your fence? :-)

Having dinner with our buddies from the PD.

My "new" vehicle, a 1996 Isuzu Trooper. What a blessing! It has the space I need, the things I wanted (oil cap screws on, spare tire is full size, windshield wipers have intermittent...hey, try having a car without these and you will realize why I put them on my prayer list for my new car.) is even blue and has a TON of extras too! Wow! It is pretty neat to have! Oh yeah, it runs and I don't spend more in oil and transmission fluid than in fuel, definitely an upgrade. :-)

My garden is growing...though something stepped in the parsley patch...and it has not been growing anyway...I tried planting seeds, but may have to go buy an established plant...

Well, I have more to post, but the computer is being somewhat slow tonight...so I better wrap this post up and head to bed...already overslept this morning, so I guess I need sleep. :-)

The End

The Swaffer Family Blog

The first full year of college is over. The Lord was so good to help me many times and to give me the grace and strength that I needed. I've not gotten all my finals back since my bill is not paid, but I think that I did well on them. Three teachers forgot and returned three of my nine fianls. :-)
Thankfully we were able to get all my stuff in the car; I really did not think we were going to make it. :-)
I start work at Der Dutchman on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it for the most part. :-)
