Happy Birthday Shadow!!!

Yep, my little furry munchkin turned 1 year old today. :-) Right now she is sprawled across my lap intermittently trying to "attack" my hands as I type and trying to get me to rub her tummy...I think I found her reflex spot...where her leg moves if I scratch. :-)

I just got back from returning Lynetta to ABC. She had come down for the weekend. We had a good time. I will try to post more about that later, including pics...but I want to get to bed soon, as I am expecting a phone call from a certain Aussie in the morning. :-)

Here's the URL

Well, I guess I didn't do something right in inserting that link...so here it is...

http://www.sermonaudio.com/main.asp

:-)

Hmmm...

Well, I am beginning to feel that I am monopolizing this blog...BUT...the intended purpose is for it to be used and so I will use it. ;-) I guess my last post was on Monday...since then 2 days have come and gone (well, at least almost gone). :-)

Tuesday I mostly did stuff around the house and then had dinner with Holli. We went to Acropolis, a Greek restaurant here in Greenville. It was pretty good. I had to go pick up some stuff at Wal-Mart afterwards. Speaking of Wal-Mart, there is a new Super Wal-Mart that just opened in Traveler's Rest. There was a pretty big controversy over building it...people claimed it would ruin the small business in TR. Oh well, I guess they lost the lawsuit and Wal-Mart is here to stay. :-) It actually should be about the closest one to my house, at least mileage wise. I will have to clock it and see if it is any closer. Of course I don't go to TR for much else, so am not sure how much I will use it...but it will be nice to have another Wal-Mart "option". :-)

Hmmm...today I had the classroom portion of an extrication class. We got finished with that earlier than scheduled, so I was able to run a few business errands, during "normal" business hours. I had to go get new stamps at the Post office, since they have raised the rates. I had to put "extra" postage on my last few bills, in order to get them there on time. :-) Anyway, I found out they raised the international postage too...now $.84 to send to AUS.

Tonight the Musical Mission Team was at church. They presented a short program. It was nice. I will be praying for them this summer. I do hope they have a wonderful time in many ways. I had always wanted to go on that team. Oh, for those of you who know him, Dave Viewrow was on the team.

Hey, I will pass along this internet link. A friend of mine from work had given me a sermon he downloaded from this site and told me about the site. You can listen to, or download sermons. If you sign up to receive their weekly email, downloads and stuff are free. Pretty neat. I listened to a sermon last night and look forward to finding more. Anyway, the link is

Well, I guess this will be a test of if I know how to "insert" a link...I suppose I could just copy and paste the URL...but I thought I would try the "insert link" button and see if it works. If the link does not post, I will create another post that has it. :-)

Well, I better close this for tonight, I have to get up early (at least for me) for the practical portion of the extrication class.

Good to talk to all you family.

Oh Brian, when are you going to update Andrew's site? I keep checking and he is just coming home. :-) JK...I know you all are busy. I just found a news article about a premmie about his size and age...I thought I would try to send it to you all...just for kicks, since they were similar. :-)

Greetings

The Swaffer Family Blog

I'm so glad that this was started!
This semester is going well so far.
The Lord provided me with a second job
Last Monday, the man in charge of the maintence department came in the library and asked me if I wanted to work for him. of course I said yes. :-)
The saddest thing that has happened is that the school has forbidden me to play any sports, since my asthma attack at the end of last semester. That has been rough, you know how I like sports, but God has been good to help me. So far our team is unbeaten, we have one more game and then the championship!!
Have a great day

Welcome to you other members!

I just wanted to extend my welcome to the rest of you "John Swaffer family" peoples! I hope that we will find this a fun and useful tool for keeping up to date with each other. I think it is a really good idea. Thanks Brian for getting it started! I plan to check it frequently, and will try to update on my behalf frequently. So, on that note...

I worked last night. It was a relatively good night...in spite of the rain. (That is my least favorite weather to work in.) I got a nice nap this morning when I got home...and Shadow seemed to enjoy it to. :-) She can be quite the lazy little dog...sleeping all night and then napping with me in the morning when I get home. :-)

I am thankful that I was able to pick up an OT shift tonight. As many of you know, I am praying for a new car...and every little bit of "extra" $ will help. So, I will be leaving home in a little while to go work in Berea tonight. (Those of you Spanish speakers in our family would have an opportunity to use your skills.) I however still resort to "sign language". ;-)

So, welcome aboard and I hope to see and hear from all of you soon! :-)

Lana

Should we include extended family?

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on extending the membership of this blog to the extended Swaffer family. ie: Uncles, Aunts, cousins, etc. Each one would still have to be invited by me (Brian). As it is now, we can share the website with them and they can read our posts, they just can't contribute. Please let me know your thoughts by commenting on this post as to your preference.

Should we leave it as the John Swaffer family exclusively or include the greater Swaffer clan?

Lynetta turns 24...how old!!! ;-)

I took Lynetta to Fat's Cafe for her birthday. They even brought her "birthday cake".

After going to church with her...we had cake in her dorm, with some of her friends. She had requested Pea-Pickin' Cake...but apparently I forgot to get a picture of it. :-) So you will have to look at another picture of us. :-)

Pics for Kaili

Here Shadow is playing with the toy that Kaili got her. Yum...yum. ;-)

Quicktime experiment

I am attempting to upload a Quicktime video to see if that will work. :-)

Well...it didn't work...but perhaps it was b/c the clip was sorta' long. I will have to create and try a smaller clip...

Automatic "sign" assignments

hmmm...I just "edited" my new blogger account...it appears if you add your birthdate that it assigns your zodiac signs etc. I wonder if there is a way to delete those?

Okay, my turn to see how this works...I have signed up for an account...logged on...hmmm, or maybe it did that for me automatically...read Brian's posts...and am now adding my own post...or at least I hope it gets added. :-) I put a picture of Shadow in it, to see how adding pics works. This pic is kinda' cute, but I have some even cuter ones at home. ;-) I will have to add them later. :-)

I am working a bit of OT tonight...and had just finished emailing myself some pics from work. Then I remembered that I still needed to try out our "family page",so headed here. I hope to get to lay down for a bit soon...
