From Lynetta

(There are photos to go with this story...but I have to get them in a different format before I can add them. :-) So check back...Lana)

On Saturday October 21, 2006, My Sunday school class took a hiking trip at Caesar’s Head, in Greene County, South Carolina.
We head out from the school at 8:00, or should I say we tried to head out at 8 A.M. I think we actually left at 8:30. We stopped at Hardies and got a bite to eat; actually I got a couple bites. J We arrived at Caesar’s Head two hours later. We headed to the trail eager to began our hike. We were headed to Raven Cliff Falls. At the beginning of the trail there was a gate which I commented that I would like to jump, as I’ve always want to run a hurdle race, one of the guys, Nate, commented that maybe I should wait till the end, just in case I fell (thanks for the vote of confidence, Nate) that way I wouldn’t be injured the whole trip. So I didn’t jump, however, not ten yards inside the gate I slipped on the leaf covered gravel and wiped out, almost taking the guy in front of me down as well. This picture is right before my crash. The klutz makes her presence known once again. L After getting all bandaged up thanks to Nate’s brand new first aid kit, which he hiked back to his car to get, we started out on the hike once again, by this time we were about 15 minutes behind the rest of the group.

The leaves were just starting to turn colors and the weather was perfect, what beautiful scenery. We got some beautiful pictures of the colorful leaves. The beauty was beyond words. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; I don’t have time to write a thousand words so you get the pictures. J My friend, Jessica and I stayed together most of the hike. At first we were bringing up the rear of the hike, due to my clumsiness, but by the end we were the first people back to the truck. We enjoyed seeing God’s great creation together. She kept telling me “we are almost there, keep going” for two or more hours!! J It turned out to be a six hour hike!
